Privacy Policy

This site collects nothing about you. Here is what that means precisely, and what a web host necessarily sees regardless.

Effective

Compliant: The short version. No accounts. No cookies. No analytics. No advertising. No third-party scripts or fonts. Nothing you type into a calculator ever leaves your device.

What we collect

Nothing. MyElectricCalculator has no accounts, no sign-up, no contact form, no newsletter and no comment system, so there is no mechanism by which you could give us personal information even if you wanted to.

Your calculator inputs

Every calculation on this site runs in your browser. The loads, distances, voltages, conductor sizes and appliance lists you enter are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us, never written to a server, and never logged. We could not tell you what anybody has ever typed into any calculator here, because it has never reached us.

They are not saved on your device either. The site uses no cookies, no local storage, no session storage and no browser database. Close the tab and the figures are gone — which is also why a calculator opens with its defaults every time rather than remembering your last job.

Cookies

The site sets none. Not for preferences, not for consent, not for measurement. There is no cookie banner here because there would be nothing for you to consent to.

Analytics

There are none. No Google Analytics, no privacy-focused alternative, no server-side page-view counting, no heatmaps, no session recording. We do not know how many people visit this site or which pages they read.

Third parties

The pages load no third-party scripts, no embedded widgets, no tracking pixels and no externally hosted fonts. The two typefaces the site uses are served from this domain specifically so that loading a page does not announce your visit to a font provider. Loading any page here contacts this site and nothing else.

What our host necessarily sees

We should be precise rather than absolutist. This site is static files delivered by a hosting and content-delivery provider, and any web server must receive a request in order to answer it. That request carries your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser's user-agent string and the time — the standard fields every web server on the internet receives.

Our host processes those to deliver pages, to keep the service available and to defend against attacks and abuse. We do not build profiles from them, do not combine them with anything else, do not sell or share them, and do not use them to identify individuals. Access logs of this kind are retained by the provider under its own policy and are not exported into any system of ours.

Advertising

There is no advertising on this site today. No ad network, no ad scripts, no affiliate links and no sponsored content. Nothing on any page is placed in exchange for money.

Advertising may be introduced in future to cover running costs. If that happens, we commit to the following, and you can hold this page to it:

  • This policy will be rewritten before the first advert appears — not afterwards — naming the provider, describing what it collects, and explaining what cookies or similar technologies it uses.
  • Where consent is legally required, it will be requested properly and advertising technology will not run until it is given.
  • Advertising will be visually distinguishable from content, and will never influence a calculated result, a recommended size, or the order in which anything is presented.

While you are reading a version of this page that describes no advertising, there is none. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading.

AI crawlers and content signals

This is not a privacy matter for you, but it is a data question and people ask, so it belongs here. The site's robots.txt carries a content-signal declaration: search indexing is permitted, training AI models on this content is not, and the content is offered for reference use. There is also an llms.txt index for agents that want a structured map of the site rather than to crawl it. These express our preferences to automated visitors; they do not involve your data in any way.

Children

This site is aimed at electrical trades and students, is not directed at children, and knowingly collects no information from anyone of any age — including children — because it collects no information at all.

Your rights

Data-protection law — the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, the CCPA in California, and comparable regimes elsewhere — gives you rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data held about you, and to object to its processing.

We hold no personal data about you, so in practice there is nothing for us to produce, correct, delete or transfer. That is not a refusal: it is the honest state of an archive that does not exist. If you believe otherwise, ask, and we will look. For the request logs described above, those are held by our hosting provider under its own policy, and requests about them are directed there.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — most obviously if advertising or analytics are ever introduced — the effective date at the top of the page will change with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so that date is the mechanism. It is worth checking it against what the page says before relying on any promise here.

Getting in touch

A contact address is not published yet. One will be added here, and this page will say so from the date it changes. Until then there is no route to reach us about this page, which we would rather state plainly than paper over with an address that bounces.
